Step 1: Select your business structure

Before jumping into the license process, you must decide how your business is legally structured.

3. Fill in your details:

4. Pay the $50 annual fee via credit or debit card.

And this is that you will find a confirmation post, and about 10-15 commercial days your official license will appear digitally or by mail.

Head-up: If your business is regulated (eg fishing, construction, childcare), you may need further endorsement or permits.

If you apply for more Alaska Business License, ask for different business names or activities, you must undergo a separate process for each.

Step 4: Understand local and special requirements

Now this part caught me.

Alaska’s state trade license is one thing – but some cities and Boro have their own demands.

I worked mostly in anchorage, which does not require a license at the city level. But if you are in places like Juno or Vasila, you may need local permits or registration.

In addition, if you are in a particular industry (for example, food service, property or professional trades), multiple government or commissions may be certified.

Here I learned the difficult way: Place your renewal date on your calendar – and maybe two reminders for a week.
